EMT/P, CCP, BScSteve is a Critical Care trained EMT-Paramedic with 17 years of EMS experience. Originally from Ontario, he attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1994. Upon completion of his BLS training at Niagara College in Welland, Ontario, Steve worked as a Primary Care Paramedic before moving to Calgary to start his Advanced Life Support Training at SAIT. Upon graduation, Steve was immediately hired by High Prairie Ambulance Service to become Manager of Operations and the only ALS trained paramedic in the entire area. While employed at High Prairie EMS for 5 years, Steve also worked casually for Western Air Rescue as a Flight Paramedic, a position he maintains to this day to maintain his skill levels.Advanced Safety Paramedics was started by Steve in High Prairie in 2002 with 1 truck. In 2004, he accepted a Supervisor position with the city of Grande Prairie as a Liaison Officer with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Emergency Department. Several years later, Steve formally resigned to concentrate his energy into growing Advanced Safety Paramedics. Over the next 10 years, ASP has steadily grown in size and reputation into one of the most respected and well known industrial medical service providers in Western Canada. In 2015, ASPEMS over fielded 40 units and had offices and operating bases in 5 locations across BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
As President and CEO of Advanced Safety, Steve is responsible for shaping the future of the company as it continues to expand operations and services across Canada. Steve helps with the development of new clients and the maintenance of our existing client base as well as formulating and updating our Health, Safety and Environmental program. He lives in Calgary with his wife and 4 children.
